My First Semester Learning Journey
Introduction:
My first semester of studying English in the first year of junior high school has been an exciting and challenging journey. In this article, I will share my experience, progress, and some useful tips that have helped me improve my English skills.
Academic Life:
During the first few weeks of school, I found it challenging to keep up with the class. The grammar rules, new vocabulary, and sentence structures were overwhelming for me. However, with the help of my teachers and classmates, I was able to catch up and understand the lessons better.
One of the things that have helped me improve my academic performance is my practice on grammar exercises and reading comprehension. I also make an effort to practice speaking English outside of class by talking to my English-speaking friends and family members.
Extracurricular Activities:
Aside from the lessons in the classroom, we also have English clubs and activities to participate in. One of the activities that I enjoyed the most was the English debate club. It helped me develop my critical thinking and public speaking skills in English. I also got to practice my research and writing skills in preparing my arguments and rebuttals.
Another extracurricular activity that helped me improve my English skills was the English movie club. Watching English movies with English subtitles, helped me to pick up new words and expressions, as well as improve my listening skills.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, my first semester of studying English in junior high school has been a fruitful experience, with its fair share of challenges and rewards. With continuous practice and the help of my teachers and classmates, I am confident that my English skills will improve further.
